Arsenal could be £145m away from handing Liverpool and Man City huge Premier League shock

Arsenal have made their first move in the summer transfer window, bringing Kepa Arrizabalaga to the club in a £5million deal.

But they are not done there. Martin Zubimendi is expected to arrive in a £55million deal from Real Sociedad, with Christian Norgaard arriving from Brentford for a £10million fee that could rise to £15million with add-ons.

Then there's defender Cristhian Mosquera, who looks set to join from Valencia in a deal worth £17million.

It was a slow start to the summer window, but the Gunners are finally making their big moves to challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool and City have already strengthened their squads to the tune of four players each, sending out a statement of intent.

And the three players mentioned above will take Arsenal to four new faces too. It is the two other signings that have been linked that could be the difference between finishing as runners-up and winning the Premier League title, however.

Arsenal had the best defensive record in the Premier League last season, conceding just 34 goals - seven fewer than Liverpool and ten fewer than City.

However, the two other teams outscored them - Liverpool considerably so - which is hardly surprising given the Gunners had to play Mikel Merino as a makeshift striker in the second half of the campaign.

Arsenal are looking to rectify that though with a striker signing and a winger acquisition. Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko are the strikers who have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, with Gyokeres the current favourite as he tries to force through a move from Sporting CP.

The Swede is likely to cost around £68million and if he translates his incredible goal record with the Portuguese giants to life in England, Arsenal have got themselves a goalscoring machine. He has 97 goals in 102 games in the last two seasons.

Then there's the winger position, with Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo the dream signing for Arsenal here. Rodrygo's future at the Santiago Bernabeu is unsettled, having played just 88 minutes of action at the Club World Cup under new boss Xabi Alonso and he could be allowed to leave the La Liga giants for around £77million.

If Arsenal were to sign both, they would have a front three to be feared with Bukayo Saka thrown into the mix too and could really challenge Liverpool and City next season.
