A police investigation has been launched after a baby died in South Wales.
The alarm was raised at around 1.45pm yesterday with officers rushing to an address in Clynderwen, Carmarthenshire. They were contacted by the Wales Ambulance Service Trust, with paramedics explaining their concerns over the welfare of an infant. An Air Ambulance spokesperson said they sent a crew to the scene at around 2pm.
When the police arrived at the property, they pronounced the child dead. A statement from said: "Sadly, the infant died at the scene. Our thoughts are with the family."
The force has confirmed that they are treating the young child's death as "unexplained", reports .
