Chelsea's deadline day plans have been forced to be altered over the weekend after Liam Delap's hamstring injury is set to leave Enzo Maresca short in attack.
Delap, who joined the club from Ipswich Town in June, lasted just 14 minutes in the 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday and is facing up to eight weeks out of action. In that period, Maresca's men are set to play 10 times across three different competitions.
As a result, the plug was pulled on Nicolas Jackson's world-record loan move to Bayern Munich, and Marc Guiu is expected to return from his brief loan spell at Sunderland. There is still scope for Jackson to depart permanently, with Newcastle United and Aston Villa showing interest.

However, with the transfer window closing at 7pm this evening, the west Londoners are considering their options, and reports have suggested that Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen is one man on their radar.
Simon Phillips on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea has reported that Chelsea have approached the striker's agents to learn the details of a possible deadline day move. The report adds that any move for the 25-year-old relies on Jackson's permanent exit.
Larsen has been the subject of £50million and £55m bids from Newcastle this summer - both of which were turned down by Wolves. The Norway international missed the 3-2 defeat to Everton due to an injury.
Asked if he will still be part of the Wolves squad past the deadline, Vitor Pereira said: "I hope so. He is an important player." He added: "We are not in a situation to sell our best players.
"The information I have is that he will stay with us."
