star Shane Richie has teased a looming moment on the soap that is unexpected, and turns his character Alfie Moon's upside down.
It seems to be in a positive way though, amid recent drama and heartache for the soap favourite. Shane teased that something that happens next week will leave Alfie in a spin, as he doesn't see it coming.
It could change everything for the character and the show, amid ever-growing hopes from viewers that a former iconic couple will reconcile. Spoilers for next week reveal Kat Slater turns to her ex Alfie during her time of need, amid trouble with their teen son Tommy Moon.
With Tommy's violence towards her and his family, including his younger brothers, resulting in him being removed from the family home, Kat is desperate to get her son back. But amid the drama there could be a moment of happiness for the pair, as Freddie Slater notes their obvious chemistry despite them being apart for some time now.
Alfie and Kat were THE soap couple back in the day when they married in 2003. There's been some splits and betrayals along the way with them, as well as the odd reunion as they keep being drawn back together.

But after a difficult year, might the pair finally get things back on track? Shane teased this, as he revealed Alfie's world is "upended" by Kat's next move.
Revealing all about a kiss happening between them next week, Shane told us: "Alfie didn’t see it coming at all! When they get back, he can see Kat is a bit gooey-eyed, but he isn’t quite sure what that’s all about. He had no idea because Kat had been reminding him for weeks that they were just friends, and she had no feelings for him.
"Alfie’s resigned himself to this and that they’ll just be living together as parents and bringing up the kids together as friends. But then Kat kisses him, and she kisses him in the way Kat kisses Alfie in the way she would have done back in the day, and it totally upends Alfie’s !"
On whether a reunion will happen, he teased: "People always want to know if they are getting back together. There’s a whole generation of people who were in their late teens when Kat and Alfie first got together and are now in their 40s.
"They grew up with Kat and Alfie being the go-to couple, and now they are in their 40s. They might have found their own Kat or Alfie and are excited that this great love story is rearing its head again. I just say, ‘Watch this space because there will be fireworks!’."
