In a candid clip, Laura said you need to do three simple things, which include:
- Mulch around the base of the plant
- Wrap the plant with a frost cloth
- Pin the cloth securely to the ground to promise protection
Once you've completed these simple tasks, you just need to hope for the best, but some protection is always better than none at all.
People seemed to think it was a great idea, and many garden fans seem to use them. At B&Q you can snap up lengths for the cloth for as little as £9.99.
When it comes to whether they work, they can when properly applied. They can protect frost sensitive plants from the cold, even when the temperatures really dip.
The cloths can also be left on the plants for an extended period of time without causing any damage to your plants. For the best results, ensure the cloth touches the ground around all the edges.
One way to weigh them down is by using bricks or pavers, but it's essential to make sure the cloth doesn't directly touch your plants. It's vital you leave space between them.
