sensation is ready to take on the UK once again with his sixth album, Solitary Tracks, but he insists things could have been so different. The multi-platinum singer/songwriter, 45, won the International Artist Achievement Award at the 2024, but confessed he has often felt "isolated" on his musical journey despite his success.
Speaking exclusively to the , the Beer Money singer candidly said: "I've always kind of felt isolated. Whether that's self inflicted or just the way I am. Maybe that's just because I choose to not walk with the pack.
"I've always felt this journey is a little isolated for myself. I definitely have close friends that feel like brothers to me. But, yeah, this journey has been a very isolated feeling in some ways."

However, he believes it's this feeling that has helped him effectively share his music style with the . "I think that's what kind of evokes the style of stuff that I do right," he continued. "So I'm okay with it in that manner."
He confessed, despite his success as a country artist, that isn't the only "lane" he is in. "I love country music," he said. "I love rock and roll. I love Motown, I love all kinds of music. I don't think about genres when I'm writing.
"I never think about genres. I never think about, 'is this suitable for country? Is this suitable for rock and roll?' I just write, man, and I don't try to stay away from thinking about what people are doing that's working. I don't think about any of that. I do whatever I'm feeling in that moment...
"I'm living in this space that's sometimes not quite country, and it's not heavy rock. It's somewhere in this light lane of like old American rock and roll at times, but I don't think about those things. I just do what I do."
Kip went on to explain how his new album, which features an impressive 23 tracks, offers so much to both himself and listeners: "There's a plethora of things that are completely different [on the new album]," he continued. "The sonic sound, the sonic nature of the songs, the lyrical concepts...
"I've never written things like Live Inside, where it's just a complete unpacking of what I really feel in that lyrical concept. Also High Hopes and Solitary Tracks, too.
"I mean, I would say the main obvious difference is the lyrical subject matter of the other records. Then I would say, melodically, I really stretched into a different zone this record than I have in previous records."
And speaking of his tune, Solitary Tracks, which shares its name with his latest album, he revealed: "When you can write something that [it's great]. A lot of times we write in fragments of honesty.
"There's bits and pieces uncover the veil. But certain tracks [like Solitary Tracks] are just exactly how I'm feeling in that moment. There's no sugar coating around how I feel in that moment."
He also admitted without music he would be a "lost soul", saying he feels "blessed with a chance to do this" years on from his initial success. The star said that if music wasn't in his life he would still be "searching to fill that void".
Kip went on to promise to "push the pedal to the floor" in his upcoming tour. "We have one gear," he confessed. "They're going to be hard pressed to find a better live show..."
