Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting with Secretaries of various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, reported news agency ANI citing sources.
The Prime Minister asked officials to exercise continued alertness in wake of heightened tensions with Pakistan post India's Operation Sindoor.
According to Reuters, he added that ' clear communication and institutional synergy' are vital amongst ministries and government departments.
The meeting's objective was to review national preparedness and inter-ministerial coordination in light of recent developments concerning national security.

During the meeting, Modi stressed on the need for seamless coordination among ministries and agencies to uphold operational continuity and institutional resilience.
Furthermore, he reviewed the planning and preparation by ministries to deal with the current situation.

Operation Sindoor, launched early Wednesday, involved precision strikes by Indian Armed Forces on nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, the targets were carefully selected to avoid civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.
Earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reiterated that while India does not seek to escalate tensions, any military provocation would be met with a firm and decisive response. His statement follows the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which has sharply intensified tensions with Pakistan.
“It is not our intention to escalate the situation, but if there are military attacks on us, we will respond very firmly,” Jaishankar said, underlining that India's retaliatory strikes under Operation Sindoor were “targeted and measured.”

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi showcased footage from the strikes, including visuals of destruction at Muridke — long associated with 26/11 terrorists David Headley and Ajmal Kasab. Other key sites targeted in the operation included the Sarjal camp in Sialkot, Markaz Ahle Hadith, Barnala, Markaz Abbas in Kotli, and the Mehmoona Joya camp in Sialkot.
India condemned the brutality of the Pahalgam attack, describing it as a deliberate attempt to destabilise the return of peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
