Even fame and success don't shield a person from making financial missteps. Acclaimed actress Ridhi Dogra, known for her performance in the psychological thriller Asur, recently spoke about a time in her life when she completely neglected her financial well-being. During her marriage to actor Raquesh Bapat, her co-star from the television series 'Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?' Dogra admitted she lost track of her own money matters.
While appearing on Yuvva, Ridhi shared how, throughout her marriage, she believed everything was under control. She assumed that managing expenses was a shared responsibility between her and her then-husband. This sense of comfort, however, led her to stop monitoring her personal finances. Over time, she found herself uncertain about where her money had gone — a realization that served as a wake-up call.
Accepting responsibility, Ridhi eventually took charge of her financial life. She hired a female investment advisor, someone she could trust and speak to openly. Determined to learn, she asked her advisor the same questions multiple times until she fully understood. There was no room for embarrassment — only a strong desire to regain control over her future.
Ridhi emphasized that it’s perfectly normal to feel lost at the beginning, but once a person decides to be financially independent, they must be fearless in seeking clarity. She encouraged others to keep asking questions until every doubt is addressed. For her, this wasn’t just about money — it was a path to empowerment. Living alone, once unfamiliar and daunting, became a source of strength and self-discovery.
Following her divorce in 2019, Ridhi faced the challenge of solitude for the first time. In a previous interview with ETimes, she recalled how living alone was a completely new experience. Although married, she had always been surrounded by friends, loved ones, and even pets. After the separation, she was suddenly on her own, and that solitude, she said, quietly prepared her for the isolation of the COVID-19 lockdown that followed.
Despite the end of her marriage, she continues to maintain a respectful and amicable relationship with Raquesh. Their journey, which began in 2010 on the sets of 'Maryada', saw them marry in 2011 and part ways eight years later.
Ridhi Dogra, now focused on self-love, growth, and financial stability, was last seen in the family drama 'Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs.' The show, also featuring The Lunchbox star Nimrat Kaur, premiered on Jio HotStar on May 2, 2025, marking another milestone in Ridhi’s evolving personal and professional journey.
