A 26-year-old has left the internet community stunned with her massive weight loss transformation of over 170 pounds that has completely transformed the way she looks. So much so that many users on social media were left wondering if the 'before and after pics' she posted were of her or a different woman.
The girl who posted details of her weight loss journey from her X handle @RoamingKam said she grew up being bullied by her friends and classmates who would pretend to have a crush on her or pretend to be her friend to tease her for being huge.
It wasn't easy for Kam to shed 170 pounds and live a life she always imagined. She unraveled this new chapter of her life at the age of 22 when she was diagnosed with multiple disorders including sleep apnea, diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
Sharing her story in a note on her X handle, Kam said it was the turning point in her life and she underwent gastric bypass surgery on advice of her healthcare experts. Thereafter skin removing operations followed. But she warns people who decide to take a similar route to work hard on maintaining the weight as it can come back.
"With this surgery, you still have to watch what you eat, your stomach can stretch back out, but if utilized correctly, it's amazing and life changing. This is what it was for me. I was able to lose 170 pounds (and still going) thanks to this tool. I watched (and still watch) what I eat, and workout as much as possible. For me, this was my saving grace," she shared.
Kam was happy to share that her diabetes is in remission for almost 4 years now and she no longer suffers from sleep apnea, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol.
Kam however also shared her struggle with body dysmorphia where she still sees the 'bigger me'.
The 26-year-old shared that while she has managed to maintain her weight for about 4 years, people still tell her to "watch what I eat”.
