Meghan Markle 's show ' With Love, Meghan ' gave a glimpse of her life with Prince Harry and their two children in the US, away from their duties as UK royals. The show was aired recently and has been much talked about lately. However, what surprised viewers was the fact that though Meghan Markle wanted to show her family life in the show, she actually used another $8 million farmhouse for the shoot which is just two miles away from her Montecito home !
Not just this, more recently Meghan invited New York Times food writer Julia Moskin to her Montecito home-- where she lives with Prince Harry and their two children. But there was one strict rule: No photos!
“I was allowed in on the condition that no photographs were taken in, or of, the house,” Moskin revealed in a recent article. She also noted that she’s the first journalist ever to step inside Meghan’s $15 million Montecito mansion.
This makes one wonder, why does Meghan Markle-- the Duchess of Sussex , doesn't allow photo shoots at her home, more so her kitchen? While she occasionally shares glimpses of her life on social media to promote her ventures, she’s never let the media inside her home—until now.
Explaining this, Meghan opened up in an interview with PEOPLE, and said, “I wanted to protect that safe haven. We’re a close-knit family, and I love those moments— putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, spending sacred time together at the end of the day.”
With a film crew of over 80 people, Meghan said, letting them into her actual kitchen just didn’t feel right.
A sneak peek into Meghan’s kitchen life
Though she guards her privacy , Meghan does enjoy sharing her love for cooking. She recently posted a video on Instagram where she made a sweet treat for her daughter, Princess Lilibet. Her mom, Doria Ragland, even joined in the fun—tasting the pudding while Meghan playfully said, “Once you get to the bottom, taste all the banana.” Ragland, with a smile, replied, “I’ll tell you when I’m done.”
Food writer Moskin also picked up on Meghan’s passion for home cooking during her visit. She described her as someone who “knows her way around a vinaigrette,” is “quick with a lemon zester,” and “deft with a knife.”
Will people ever see Meghan's real kitchen?
With 'With Love, Meghan' already renewed for Season 2, fans are left wondering— will the next season finally give us a look inside her real Montecito kitchen? Only time will tell.
