Residents of Bandra gathered at the Carter Road amphitheatre on Saturday evening, holding placards condemning the attack. Zeenat Shaukat Ali, director general of Wisdom Foundation, a group promoting inter-religious dialogue, was among those who were there. They raised slogans against Pakistan which has been accused of sending its nationals to carry out the killings. “All of us condemned terrorism. We said that we stood with the government. We want all the terrorists to be brought to book. The terrorists are a blot on Islam. They pretend they have a religion, but do not belong to any religion,: said Ali.

Furkan Shaikh, president of We Are Stronger Together Foundation which organised the protest, said, “The candle march was not just a tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam attack; it was a reminder to the world that India's spirit cannot be broken by bullets or bombs. Our unity is our greatest strength, and no act of terror will ever succeed in dividing us. We appeal to the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India to take the strongest possible action against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and ensure justice for every innocent life lost."
