Satna (Madhya Pradesh): A female cook of a government girls’ primary school in the Singhpur area of Satna district sustained severe injuries on Friday.
The incident occurred after a huge chunk of plaster from the school kitchen ceiling fell on Savitri Soni when she was cooking food. The school is 45 km away from the district headquarters.
Soon after the incident she was unconscious. The school employees took her to a nearby hospital. The Sarpanch of Singhpur informed the officials of the administration about the incident.
According to reports, the in-charge headmaster of the school, Roshni Garg, and Sarpanch Ramshiromani Kori informed the senior officers about the incident.
There are 25 students and two teachers in the school, which began in 2012.

The other cook of the school is Kiran Kori. The district project coordinator of the Women and Child Welfare Department said there would be an inquiry into the reasons behind the poor condition of such a newly built building.
If the building is found to be in a dilapidated condition, he will shift the children from there, he said. There are many Anganwadi centres and schools, which are running from dilapidated buildings because of poor quality work.
