Pune: A massive fire broke out near the famous Shrimati Laxmibai Dagdusheth Halwai Datt Mandir in the early hours of Wednesday. The blaze engulfed a two-storey old wooden wada adjacent to the temple, causing significant damage.
The fire was reported to the Pune Fire Brigade control room at around 1:06 AM.
Immediately after the alert, ten fire engines along with five officers and fifty personnel were reached at the spot and successfully douse the fire and successfully prevented the fire from spreading in other nearby Wadas.
The wooden wada has been severely damaged, and two shops located on the ground floor of the building have also been affected.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

Nilesh Mahajan, PRO of Fire department said, The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.Firefighters used multiple approaches to douse the flames, including entering through a nearby sweet shop and using ladders from the street to spray water from all directions.
Approximately 8 to 10 residents in the vicinity were able to evacuate in time, avoiding any major mishaps. Police personnel and staff from MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd.) are also present at the scene, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
