6 Nepali Nationals Booked For Using Fake Employment Permits To Fly Abroad At Mumbai Airport
In a separate case, Sahar Police registered a complaint against six Nepali nationals who attempted to travel to the UAE and Qatar using counterfeit Foreign Employment Permit documents. The group had reportedly paid an agent between NPR 1 lakh and 2.5 lakh each for the forged papers. They were intercepted by immigration officials on May 27 after one of them, Ramekbal Dhanuk (27), arrived at the airport with suspicious documents while preparing to board a flight scheduled at 2:10 am.
Following Dhanuk, five more Nepali men, Mohammad Alam (23), Raki Yadav alias Prasad Yadav (20), Mohammad Haroon Manihar (37), Mobin Musalman alias Baitulla Musalman (32), and Jogindra Yadav alias Kishori Yadav (36), presented similar documents. On verification, immigration officers found the permits to be fake, with no corresponding records found on official websites or with the Nepal Embassy in New Delhi.
The FIR stated that the group had travelled by road from Nepal to Bihar and then flown to Mumbai, intending to reach the Gulf for employment opportunities. Based on the complaint, police booked all six under Sections 340(2) (use of forged documents) and 336(3) (forgery with intent to cheat) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with other relevant sections.
