Actress and Punjab Kings owner Preity Zinta heaved a sigh of relief and was seen cheering as Royal Challengers Bengaluru legend Virat Kohli lost his wicket for just 12 runs in the first IPL Qualifier match. The wicket came as a welcome respite for PBKS, who were defending their low score of 101 runs against RCB.
Kohli was sent walking back to the dressing room after playing just 12 balls, as he was caught out on Kyle Jamieson's ball. While Anushka Sharma pouted over her husband's dismissal, Preity was seen standing and cheering for her team's efforts.
The actress looked beautiful in a white salwar suit, complete with a pristine white phulkari dupatta. She was accompanied by her husband, Gene Goodenough. While Preity applauded the wicket, she looked tense due to her team's below par batting performance in the first innings.
Preity has been a regular at the stands this season, and she is often seen sharing an adorable camaraderie with the players of her team. She has often been seen catching up with each player personally on the field after every PBKS match.
Meanwhile, RCB bowlers restricted PBKS to a low score of only 101 runs in the first innings of the IPL 2025 Qualifier 1. RCB batters then chased down the target of 102 runs in just 10 overs, with Phil Salt hitting a swashbuckling 56 runs in just 27 balls.
RCB has now become the first team to reach the IPL finals, while PBKS will get another chance to secure a place in the finale by playing Qualifier 2 against the winner of Eliminator. The Eliminator match will be played between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans.
