Retired Army Jawan Held In ₹4 Crore Job Scam In MP's Jabalpur

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A massive job recruitment scam was unearthed in Jabalpur, with the arrest of a retired army jawan who allegedly defrauded over 50 people of nearly Rs 4 crore, a police official said.

Military Intelligence (MI) apprehended Rajesh Kumar Rajbhar, a retired Naik, and handed him over to Ranjhi Police. Rajbhar is currently on a three-day remand as police investigate the extent of the fraud.

Rajbhar, who retired in 2016, was accused of promising jobs in various army establishments, including Headquarters Area Jabalpur and Military Hospital.

He used fake joining letters with forged signatures and seals to convince victims. He even pasted a counterfeit joining list near the Military Hospital to appear authentic.

Victims like Rohit Gupta and Arvind Kol recounted how he took large sums of money—lakhs of rupees—for promises of employment that never happened. Police seized fake army seals and documents from the accused.

Initial investigations suggested the scam could involve multiple accomplices, including some with potential ties to the army.

The police were also investigating reports that Rajbhar's family is pressuring victims to drop their complaints in exchange for their money. Further revelations were underway.
