Lucknow: A man who was on the run after allegedly killing his wife in Mal area of Lucknow was found dead, hanging from a mango tree on Monday morning. The deceased, identified as Ravi, had reportedly beaten his wife Seema to death with a brick on Sunday following a domestic dispute.
Attempt to Burn Body Foiled
According to police, Ravi had attempted to burn his wife's body after the attack but fled when their daughter raised an alarm. Seema was rushed to a nearby health centre and later referred to the trauma centre, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Body Found Hanging
On Monday, villagers spotted Ravi's body hanging about a kilometre from his house and informed the police. He was reportedly wearing only undergarments when found. Investigators believe he had been hiding nearby since the murder.

Originally from Talwa Pichhwara village in Unnao district, Ravi had recently returned from Chandigarh, where he worked as a labourer. Locals claim he was an alcoholic and often fought with his wife. Ravi and Seema have two daughters, aged four and eight. Both were present at home during the incident.
Police officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing and post mortem examinations are being conducted.
