The victim's son, Krishna Kumar, who serves in the Indian Army, filed a complaint at Nangal Chaudhari Police Station on Sunday. In his statement, Kumar identified one of the attackers as Rohit, a resident of Neemrana in neighboring Rajasthan. Police have registered a case against Rohit and launched an investigation to identify 4-5 other youths allegedly involved in the assault.
Kumar told police that the attackers not only struck his mother repeatedly with sticks but also dragged her outside the house while continuing the assault. Prem Devi sustained serious injuries to her legs from the attack.
The CCTV footage of the incident, which has since circulated online, clearly shows the men breaking into the property and attacking the woman.
According to Kumar, this was not the first incident of harassment. He claimed that the neighbouring youths had previously threatened to kill him multiple times, prompting him to file a police complaint on April 7. Fearing for his family's safety, Kumar had installed CCTV cameras at his residence, which recorded the entire incident.
In his complaint, Kumar has requested police protection for his family. Police have confirmed that an investigation is underway, and further action will be taken based on their findings.
