Aldi shoppers can't stop talking about new 'sensational' £2.99 chocolates

Aldi is stocking a "delicious" new freeze-dried snack - and shoppers can't wait to try it. The supermarket has introduced freeze-dried fruit coated in chocolate, with two different flavours available. Customers can choose between strawberries or raspberries, with each pouch priced at £2.99.

One shopper who has already tried the snack went viral after sharing her taste test, delighting viewers who would love to give the treats a go themselves. Posting on TikTok as @hollybennettxx, content creator Holly tested the two new flavours.

In her video, Holly said: "Aldi has just bought out these freeze-dried raspberries and strawberries... They're all in the middle section. So fingers crossed this Aldi has them, cause I'm really intrigued to try them."

Luckily, she found the snacks without any trouble. "Well that was easy. I come to the Christmas section in the middle, and here they are. Look at that. £2.99 and they've got loads," she said.

The shopper added: "These look so good. Freeze-dried strawberries coated in luxuriously thick milk chocolate. Let's give them a try then, shall we? Oh, they're huge! Oh wow! The sweetness from the strawberry inside with that chocolate."

Opening the raspberries, Holly said: "Oh, these ones you get white chocolate and milk chocolate. That one's just milk, this one you get both." First, she tried a white chocolate raspberry.

"That's the inside. Sensational." Holly continued: "I'm gonna have to try milk chocolate. Be rude not to. Oh my God, that is honestly so good. Actual chocolate as well is so good.

"I've never actually had freeze-dried fruit before, I don't think, but I think I've just started an addiction here. I'm giving these a 10 out of 10. Aldi, you've done well. I need to put these away cause I will eat the whole bag."

The taste test impressed social media users, and the video gained over 40,000 views. There were also thousands of likes and a range of comments from excited shoppers. Someone commented: "Need to try them!" A fan agreed: "Ooooo I need to try!!!!"

A shopper shared: "I bought these the other day, they taste so nice!" Another commented: "They are delicious." A fan said: "They used to do these at m&s and I was devastated when they stopped doing them, so I'm so happy for this!"

There was more excitement when the Facebook page Newfoodsuk showcased the new snacks in a popular post. The picture highlighted the two flavours. The caption said: "New Freeze Dried Strawberries & Raspberries spotted at Aldi UK," and it gained thousands of likes.

A shopper replied: "The raspberries are amazing." A second wrote: "Bought the strawberry ones, delicious! You can also bake with them too." Someone else thought: "Just tried the strawberry ones and my days they are amazing, just like a malteaser but with a strawberry."
