'I unboxed Molton Brown's 2025 advent calendar and it's filled with opulent scents'

It's September and our shopping team is head over heels for beauty advent calendars. In case people haven't noticed, several major beauty brands have already dropped their festive giftings for this year.

Beauty Bay offers £330 of free products in its advent calendar, while Jurlique fans can get their hands on the brand's new countdown with 24 botanical skin and body care buys. Recently, Molton Brown launched its2025 advent calendarat LookFantastic.

Priced at £230, the new launch gets shoppers 24 deluxe-size products worth a total of £346. If shoppers are keen to know more about the brand's festive countdown, our shopping writer Tiffany Lo has taken a look inside.

Firstly, the packaging for the Molton Brown's new calendar is absolutely extravagant; it features gold embossed leaf motifs around the box. Among the goodies inside, shoppers can find the autumn-ready Mesmerising Oudh Accord & Gold body lotion and candle.

The scent opens with citrusy bergamot and spicy cinnamon leaf notes before unfolding a floral heart of elemi and black tea; a hypnotic olfactive exploration of a spiced forest. As a Molton Brown fan, I'm excited to see Bluebell & Wild Strawberry fragrance included in the advent calendar.

It is one of four travel perfume refills in 7.5ml vials, which fit perfectly in the Fragrance Travel Case for an on-the-go spritz. Launched in February, the Bluebell & Wild Strawberry represents the scent of spring. It smells like a park filled with delicate bluebells and fresh violet leaf.

The Molton Brown Advent Calendar is a great way for shoppers to try out products without committing to a full size. That said, those looking for standard-sized candles and shower gels will be disappointed.

Elsewhere, Rituals' Ritual of Adventis a lovely wreath-shaped box packed with 24 home, body care, and skincare essentials. It's available to purchase online for £89.90. The Body Shop offers two different advent calendars - a £120 Ultimate Beauty Advent Calendar and £60 Classic Beauty Advent Calendar.

Back to the Molton Brown countdown, the brand has been generous with fragrance gifts this year. There are eight travel-size perfumes inside, including a 10ml Reviving Rosemary Perfume Oil Roll-On, which is perfect for layering. My favourite ones are Bluebell and Wild Strawberry and Rose Dunes.

Other than having a huge selection of scents, the advent calendar also includes some winter skincare must-haves - two hand creams (rhubarb and rose/flora luminare) and a vitamin E-enriched lip balm - and they will be kept in my handbag throughout winter.
