Jack Grealish's dream start to life at Everton has continued after being named the Premier League's official Player of the Month for August. Grealish, 30, joined the Toffees on loan from Manchester City in the summer transfer window after Pep Guardiola made it clear that he was no longer part of his plans.
The former Aston Villa star made a cameo during Everton's opening game of the season away to Leeds before starting their first home match at their new £800million stadium. Grealish set up both goals as David Moyes' side beat Brighton 2-0 and he got two more assists in their 3-2 win against Wolves the following weekend.
His performances weren't enough to earn him an England call-up from Thomas Tuchel but they have seen him crowned August's Player of the Month. To win award, as voted for by fans, Grealish fended off competition from seven other players who've also enjoyed bright starts to the new season.
Liverpool duo Hugo Ekitike and Dominik Szoboszlai were nominated, as were Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori, Crystal Palace's Guehi, City striker Erling Haaland, Chelsea's Joao Pedro and Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo.
A delighted Grealish was presented with his prize by Everton fan and online content creator Andy Castell at Finch Farm. Toffees team-mate and fellow summer signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was the first to tell Grealish, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Wednesday, that he was the winner.

Prior to this week, the 39-capped England international had never received a Premier League Player of the Month award. "First one, mate," Grealish beamed after Dewsbury-Hall passed him the trophy.
"I actually thought then you were winding me up as well... I'm quite speechless to be fair."
Moyes has admitted that Grealish is even better than he thought, saying after the victory over Wolves: "He is making a big difference; whether it is his assists, his presence, lots of things.

"So all credit to him. He is playing the minutes he may not have had in recent years. You know, he's so good. What Jack gives us is something just on the edge, which, hopefully it's on the edge of creativeness and maybe scoring goals."
Tuchel was asked ahead of the international break why he didn't call Grealish up and also left Real Madrid's Trent Alexander-Arnold out of his most recent England squad. "There's no doubt I am a big fan of Trent and Jack Grealish," the Three Lions boss replied.
"Big players and big personalities, always in the mix. I know both are desperate but in this camp we decided for Reece James and Tino Livramento and in Jack's position, Rashy [Marcus Rashford] and Ebs [Eberechi Eze]. The competition is up."
