Monster: The Ed Gein Story is available on Netflix and marks the third chapter in the Monster anthology series.

Following its success, the fourth season has already secured Ella Beatty, daughter of Hollywood royalty, in the leading role.

The 25 year old will portray Lizzie Borden, who faced trial but was ultimately acquitted of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe in 1892.

The LA-born actress is the daughter of Annette Bening and Warren Beatty, with her mum celebrated for performances in American Beauty and The Kids Are All Right.

Her dad's illustrious career has stretched across more than six decades, with memorable turns in Bonnie and Clyde, Reds and Heaven Can Wait, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Ella is the youngest of the couple's four children, and Warren and Annette aren't her only celebrated family connections.

Her paternal aunt is none other than Shirley MacLaine, an American actress and writer whose career has flourished for over 70 years.

Her cousin is Sachi Parker, a screen actress who appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Peggy Sue Got Married.

Ella made her television bow in 2024 with Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, before her cinema debut in If I Had Legs I'd Kick You.

The rising star acknowledged the advantages of having two distinguished actors as parents, whilst expressing her determination to forge her own path.

Speaking to Vogue, she said: "I totally acknowledge that there is an inherent privilege and exposure that comes from having well-known actors as parents. And I really hope that I can offer something meaningful."

Growing up, the star was no stranger to the glitz and glamour of showbiz, often tagging along with her parents to film sets and award ceremonies, and even visiting her father on location during his directorial projects.

She shared some sage advice from her mother about navigating the acting world: "Be kind - because there'll always be someone more beautiful, more charming, more interesting. If you show up and be kind, it goes a long way."

In March 2024, she took her first bow on Broadway in Appropriate, with her siblings - Isabel and Stephen - and their mother in the audience to cheer her on.

Most recently, she shared the stage with Hugh Jackman in the New York Off-Broadway production of Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes.
