Traitors series postponed indefinitely after contestant murdered before series finale

In a shocking and tragic turn of events, Finland has delayed the airdate of its season finale due to the murder of contestant Janne Puhakka. The 29 year old was found dead at his residence in Espoo, which lies close to Helsinki.

Finnish publication Yle Urheilu reports that Puhakka's ex-partner, Rolf Nordmo, aged 66, admitted to the killing of the star with a shotgun after their recent separation. Puhakka had been participating in The Traitors' second run on Nelonen, hosted by Christoffer Strandberg, and remained an active participant in the game leading up to the final episode.

However, following his passing, the network made the decision to hold off on broadcasting this week's concluding segment, originally taped earlier in the year. "We have come to the conclusion that now is not the right time to air an episode. We will return to the question of the possible presentation of the episode later. We share in the grief of Janne's loved ones," stated a representative from Nelonen.

Local police believe Puhakka met his demise at the hands of his former spouse shortly after their separation, as Puhakka was apparently slain upon returning to the Henttaa home he once shared with Nordmo.

Nordmo is currently behind bars, facing a murder charge that's been escalated due to suspicions of premeditation and exceptional brutality and cruelty. He employed a legally owned hunting shotgun in the killing of Puhakka and has reportedly admitted to the act, reports .

Matti Högman, the chief investigator, revealed: "Based on the interrogation, the motive for the crime was the end of the relationship between the victim and the suspect."

"During the interrogation, things related to their relationship emerged. The suspect has shown strong emotions about the incident. The whole thing has to do with emotions."
