of 's season 14, fans of the drama have begun suggesting who could take over from Don Gilet the starring role he recently landed. The actor made his first appearance during the 2024 Christmas special before succeeding 's DI Neville Parker and leading investigations on the fictional island of Saint Marie.
However, with the show's spin-off, filling , fans have suggested a key character from Shipton Abbey would be a welcome addition on the Caribbean island. Taking to a fan page, one viewer proposed that Dylan Llewellyn, who stars as PC Kelby Hartford, could "become the new St.Marie lead detective. They noted: "Obviously, Humphrey has already gone the other way, and this would be a nice way to continue the small interactions between the series."
One commenter agreed: "I think Saint Marie would be good for him, it would be cool to see in the next 3/4 years."
As another echoed: "I'd certainly like to see something like this. My preference would be to see Humphrey returning to the island, to fill the commissioner void left by Selwyn."
However, others argued that Kelby might not be the right fit. As a third said: "Maybe as a Sergeant in a few years. He's got to do some growing up first."
Elsewhere, it was suggested: "What about Esther stepping up to be the next DI? Zoe could move from her apprenticeship with Martha to one under Catherine."
Although this has yet to be confirmed by bosses, it wouldn't be the first time a character has moved across both shows, as Kris Marshall got his start on Death in Paradise before landing Beyond Paradise.
He landed the role of DI Humprey Goodman in 2014 to raise his young family in the UK.
At the time, Marshall shared on Kelly's talk show: "I realised I had to get my son to school."
"He was becoming a bit too Caribbean, he refused to wear shoes and would only drink coconut water and eat pineapple. He was very good on the beach but not so good with Maths and English, so I decided that it was time to get him to school."
