Erik ten Hag can breath huge sigh of relief after Man Utd's latest bold move

Imagine having somebody who has done your job considerably better than you constantly hanging around the place.

They will always be judging you. Always having an opinion on how things should be done. Even if those thoughts are not voiced, you will always be wondering what they are thinking.

It would be made even worse if that person then had a say in whether you get sacked or not.

It can't be a nice feeling; that's why it must be a breath of fresh air for Erik ten Hag that Sir Alex Ferguson will be axed next summer.

The primary reason Sir Jim Ratcliffe is taking Ferguson off the books is to save £2.16 million a year.

It's outrageous that he was commanding a salary higher than Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo in the first place.

But Ten Hag should be able to sit a bit more comfortably and get on with his job without the eyes of a club legend glaring over his shoulder.

Raducanu damage

EMMA Raducanu says she wants to do "damage" on the WTA Tour next year

But that's exactly what she needs to avoid after another season curtailed through injury.

I jest, but the Brit should work on her injury resistance before calling for the top stars.

Verstappen's swift drop

MAX Verstappen may have had a cruel summer with his Red Bull not performing as well as the McLaren.

At least he was able to shake it off dancing to Taylor Swift at a friend's wedding this week.

Now he has six races to try and be an anti-hero and deny Lando Norris a first title.
