Railway lines were closed around London Euston station due to an emergency incident. One traveller described the chaos as "absolute carnage". Services between the capital and Manchester, Preston, Liverpool and Birmingham have seen delays, with "major disruption" caused and trains halted on tracks.
Some passengers experienced delays of around two hours, while others had their trains cancelled. However, travellers had their tickets accepted on other routes, with exact details listed by National Rail.
