'I tried Ed Sheeran's hottest sauce ever and nearly burned my tongue off'

Ed Sheeran has come out with a range of hot sauces - and his latest is the spiciest one yet.

Yes, you read that right. The Shape of You hitmaker has ventured into the culinary world with his latest enterprise, and his brand Tingly Ted's Tingly Hot Sauce is here to match his unrecognisable new image. for an "emo" transformation, and was spotted for the first time with jet black hair as he promoted his . Along with the new LP, he has already teased a new single called Azizam for his 2025 pop return.

It makes a strange kind of sense, then, that along with his edgy new look, Ed wanted an edgy new food to go along with it. He's just come out with the XXXtra Tingly Hot Sauce, available for £3 from Ocado and upping the spice level yet again.

If you're not a spice lover, don't worry - the sauce is also available in Xtra hot and just regular hot.

I decided to give it a go myself, and poured a generous dollop of the XXXtra hot along with my lunch. Usually one to be confined to a medium peri-peri spice at Nando's, I was genuinely frightened I was in for a shock.

The hottest thing I've ever tasted was a volcano chilli sauce at a food festival several years ago. Believing myself pretty invincible, I tried it smeared on a cracker, popping the whole thing into my mouth at once. Big mistake. Seconds later the breath had been stolen right out of my lungs and I literally couldn't get it back for a few minutes.

Tingly Ted's, however, isn't that kind of heat. Bracing myself, I dipped in, and while my tongue was left burning within seconds, the rest of the heat was rather pleasant, with a fruity element to it that actually makes the sauce pretty moreish. It's not overpowering by any means, but adds a nice kick to a plainer meal.

Best of all, it's not the only celebrity hot sauce on the market. Everyone from Brooklyn Beckham to Kim Kardashian has hopped on the bandwagon - and now I'm keen to sample them all.
