GB News reporters were confronted live on air by Lauren Farrow, a reporter for Dan Wootton Unspoken. They were outside of Westminster Magistrates Court, where Tommy Robinson, born Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was awaiting his verdict for terror offences. However, as the former GB News presenter Dan introduced Lauren, she revealed that she'd spotted the two reporters and furiously confronted them outside the court.
She announced: "I've spotted GB News and I'd like to ask them about actually why they're bothering to report when they won't let Tommy on their channel." As Lauren walked towards them, she added: "I'm just going to go over and see if they've got anything to say because this is the system we live in." The reporter fumed: "People think that these channels can be trusted, but they can't." When she reached the GB News reporters, Lauren informed them: "Hi, you're live on the number one news channel, Dan Wootton Unspoken." However, as they noticed the camera, the reporters instantly ran away from Lauren and attempted to shield themselves from it.
Lauren persisted: "I just wondered, you won't feature Tommy, so why are you covering it?"
After being ignored, she went on: "Sorry, you won't feature Ben Habib, Rupert Lowe or Tommy Robinson. I just want to ask you why you're censoring people's news?
As they walked away, Lauren returned to the camera and raged: "Well, there you have it, more propaganda puppets, they won't say.
"That is why Outspoken will tell you patriots the truth. These muppets pose as journalists but can't answer a single question."
Lauren went on to slam GB News on X/Twitter, mocking the two reporters. She raged: "GB 'News' when I asked them on camera for @danwootton 'Outspoken' why they were covering the trial when they REFUSE to have @TRobinsonNewEra on.
"PS) It was wonderful to remind the reporters that 'Outspoken' is the No.1 independent news channel. No corporate bulls**t agenda and no censorship. Exactly as news should be. Thank you for your attention to this matter," she concluded.
This comes after Dan was suspended and eventually left GB News in 2024 to set up his own platform following an Ofcom investigation that ruled his show had broken rules.
The watchdog ruled that a segment on Dan Wootton Tonight on GB News, in which the actor turned politician Laurence Fox made "misogynistic" comments about the female journalist Ava Evans, broke broadcasting rules, as he remarked: "Who would want to shag that?"
Ofcom received 8,867 complaints, making it the most complained-about TV event of the year.
