Piers Morgan slams people 'mocking' Joe Biden's cancer diagnosis in online rant

Piers Morgan has passionately implored the public to "show some respect" after it emerged that former US president Joe Biden is battling an 'aggressive form' of prostate cancer.

In a shocking revelation, following hospital admission last week for a "prostate nodule", 82 year old Joe Biden's condition has taken a grave turn. Initially, the examination sparked little concern, but subsequent evaluations have led to the confirmation of grade 5 prostate cancer that has spread to the former leader's bones, with a Gleason score of 9.

Notwithstanding the gravity of Biden's health crisis, his physicians have identified the cancer as hormone-responsive, suggesting potential avenues for effective treatment plans. The integration of hormone therapy with other approaches like radiation or surgery could prove beneficial in controlling the disease.

Messages of support have poured in for Biden and his loved ones from various distinguished personalities, including Donald Trump. In a heartfelt post on Truth Social, Trump expressed: "Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery."

Trump's fellow Republicans have spoken out following the announcement of Biden's cancer diagnosis. Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins expressed her concern, saying she was "saddened to hear of President Biden's cancer diagnosis and am wishing him and his family well as he begins treatment.", reports

North Carolina Republican Senator Thom Tillis also offered his thoughts, stating he was "praying for his full recovery."

However, it appears that a number of online trolls have been "mocking and celebrating" Mr Biden's health news. Piers Morgan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to call for decency, urging people to "show some respect".

The journalist and media personality posted on X: "I'm going to block anyone I see - and there's already a lot of this vile crap flying around - mocking, celebrating, or playing partisan politics with Joe Biden's health news. The man has served his country for 50yrs and is fighting for his life. Show some bloody respect."

Some of his 8.8 million followers echoed Piers' sentiments, with one replying: "I agree Piers, it's sickening that people want to tear someone down when they are sick. I don't agree with most of Biden's decisions but he is human. Where is our humanity? That is what makes us different, hatred only creates more hatred."

Biden and his family are now in consultation with his healthcare team to decide on the best course of action. This recent health scare comes after an earlier update in 2023, where a cancerous skin lesion was successfully removed from Biden without the need for any further treatment.
