Sharon Osbourne issues silent tribute to Ozzy with emotional nod to four-decade marriage

Sharon Osbourne was overcome with emotion as she and her children, Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39, put on a united front to visit a sprawling memorial site at Ozzy's hometown of Birmingham. In the days since the Black Sabbath star's tragic death, fans have flocked to the band's dedicated bench in the town centre to lay flowers and tributes for the late 76-year-old.

On Wednesday (July 30), the Osbourne family, joined by Ozzy's son Louis from a previous marriage to Thelma Louise, drove through the city as part of his moving funeral procession and stopped off at the site. The journey, which included a drive past Ozzy's childhood home, saw a tearful Sharon and her children exit the car to lay flowers and thank the thousands of fans who chanted: "Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy." As the former talent judge struggled to fight back tears and was held up by Jack and Kelly, her heartfelt nod to their 43-year marriage seemingly went unnoticed.

The 72-year-old appeared fragile as she descended from the SUV, wearing a simple long black dress with long sleeves.

In addition to her trademark red hair, Sharon's choice of jewellery seemed to stand out as she wore a long necklace with one gold ring swaying with each step.

Many fans pointed out that the meaningful necklace has touching ties to their 1982 wedding, as it had Ozzy's ring on it.

The pair had recently celebrated their wedding anniversary on July 4, just weeks before his tragic death.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan shared a photo of Ozzy's wedding ring and compared it to the one Sharon wore on a necklace.

In the post, they said: "Sharon Osbourne wearing Ozzy's wedding ring in a chain around her neck while mourning him. We love you Shaz." (sic)

As another responded: "I was wondering if that was his ring this killed me even more."

"Seeing Sharon wear Ozzy's ring on a necklace... completely wrecked me," said a third.

Another fan echoed: "Broke my heart seeing Sharon and the kids visit Ozzy's memorial at the procession, noticed Sharon had Ozzy's wedding ring on her necklace."

"I truly truly hope they are all taking care of themselves and each other. Sharon has Ozzy's ring around her neck," added a fifth.

During the funeral procession, Kelly also paid tribute to her father by wearing his trademark purple sunglasses.

The family were overcome with emotion and embraced one another as they looked at the Black Sabbath bench, which was overflowing with flowers and tributes.
