The chilly autumnal weather has arrived, and as the evenings grow colder, many are considering investing in an electric blanket for that extra bit of warmth. Currently, a double discount deal is available on Silentnight's electric throw.
Typically priced at £49, the Silentnight comfort control heated throw is now on sale at Yimbly, a marketplace owned by Express.co.uk's parent company, Reach Plc. The navy version is available for £40, while the grey variant is priced at £45.
However, customers can enjoy an additional 10% off on the electric throw by using the discount code AUTUMN10 at checkout. This reduces the price of the navy throw to £36, and the grey one to £40.50.
The code is valid until the end of November, and postage and packaging are £2.99.
According to Silentnight, the throw costs merely 1p per hour to operate. The heated throw is crafted from a soft fleece fabric and comes with nine heat settings that can be adjusted using the remote control. It measures (L)160cm x (W)120cm, weighs 1.25 kg and has a cord length of 2m.
The Silentnight electric blanket is also available on Amazon from £42.99 and has garnered over 2,000 reviews. One satisfied customer remarked: "Good size, feels nice and soft. Ready for the cold weather." Another shopper added: "Lovely, purchased as my friend was visiting from Portugal. Did the job not once she she complain that she was cold."
A third person enthused: "This product delivers personal heating at a very economical price. There is no need to have central heating on. While my primary use was for heating around the house, it also doubles as a heating throw for the bedroom. It is simple to use; however, I would caution against using it by unsupervised children. It is an electrical product and cannot be allowed to get wet or be subject to rough use. Excellent product."
One customer purchased it as a present for their daughter, stating, 'as she is always cold, particularly her feet'. The buyer added: "Very easy to use and extremely warm and cosy, no need to worry about the blanket staying on permanently as there is a safety timer built in. My daughter has never been happier, especially with the colder nights setting in. No complaints of being cold, happy parents too, as the central heating is yet to be turned on."
However, not all feedback was glowing. One shopper pointed out some negatives, stating: "It is quite thin and does not heat up as well as others that I have purchased."
For alternative options, Debenhams offers an electric heated throw over sherpa blanket, reduced from £74.99 to £31.87. This large grey throw features 10 temperature settings and an auto shut-off timer, reports Yorkshire Live.
Additionally, Dunelm has just released a printed fleece woodland electric throw as part of their new autumn home collection, priced at £35. The printed blanket showcases deer, foxes, and foliage against a cream background.
