A new trailer for Prime Video's The Better Sister has just been released this week, so let's dive into what to expect from the gripping upcoming thriller.

Based on a bestselling novel, this salacious and irresistible murder mystery features an all-star cast and is brought to us by Craig Gillespie, the acclaimed director of I, Tonya and Disney's Cruella.

Not only does it boast a killer cast and creative team, but the eight-part limited series is just a few weeks away. Here's all you need to know.

Who is in The Better Sister's cast?

Prime Video's must-watch series stars Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks as estranged sisters Chloe and Nicky who reconcile when one of their husbands is killed.

Hollywood star Biel is well-known for appearances in films such as Valentine's Day, Total Recall and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake in 2003. She also received Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for her role in the first season of the USA Network anthology series, The Sinner.

Meanwhile, her co-star Banks has appeared in several blockbuster films, such as the Hunger Games and Spider-Man franchises as well as comedies like What to Expect When You're Expecting and The Walk of Shame.

In the last few years she's turned her career towards directing, helming the second Pitch Perfect film, Charlie's Angels and Cocaine Bear.

Portraying Chloe's husband Adam is Corey Stoll, who fans will recognise from Ant-Man, House of Cards and Billions.

Rounding out the supporting cast are Kim Dickens (Fear the Walking Dead and Gone Girl), Gabriel Sloyer (Narcos) and newcomers Maxwell Acee Donovan and Bobby Naderi.

The trailer has also confirmed appearances from Stoll's House of Cards co-star Paul Sparks, Mr Robot's Gloria Reuben, Stranger Things' Matthew Modine and The Equalizer's Lorraine Toussaint.

The chilling new trailer begins with Chloe 'releasing' herself of anxiety in the mirror while announcing her husband has been murdered and her sister Nicky has returned.

We then hear her being questioned about the night she apparently returned home and discovered her husband's body, but detective Nancy (Dickens) is convinced the scene was staged.

Meanwhile, Chloe and Nicky reunite and we discover that Nicky is actually the mother of Chloe's adoptive son, Ethan (Donovan) and used to be with Adam.

As the investigation continues and the scandalous story unravels into a media circus, Ethan becomes the prime suspect in his father's murder and the sisters must reluctantly reconcile to protect their family.

What will happen in The Better Sister?
