The political atmosphere in Maharashtra has heated up ahead of the assembly elections, and internal strife within the Congress party has also started to emerge. Sunil Kedar, a senior Congress leader and influential figure in Nagpur district, has been seriously accused of supporting rebel candidates along with his supporters. Congress candidates in Nagpur have complained about this to the Congress leadership and have requested Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to interfere and mediate with Sunil Kedar. This has created a situation of internal conflict and discontent in the Nagpur Congress.Sunil Kedar supporters have raised the challenge of rebellion in four major assembly constituencies of Nagpur district - Ramtek, Umred, Hingna and Nagpur West.Ramtek Constituency: Former Congress Minister and District President Rajendra Mulak has filed his candidature against Mahavikas Aghadi candidate, Vishal Barbate. Rajendra Mulak is known to be a close supporter of Sunil Kedar. Sunil Kedar himself was present in the process of filling this application, along with Ramtek MPs Shyamsunder Barve and Rashmi Barve.Umred Constituency: Sunil Kedar supporter and Zilla Parishad Chairman, Kailas Chute has filed nomination against Sanjay Meshram, the official candidate selected by Mahavikas Aghadi. Hingna Constituency: Former Zilla Parishad Chairman and Sunil Kedar supporter Ujwala Bodhare has filed nomination in Hingna Assembly Constituency whereas Ramesh Bang of Sharad Pawar group is the official candidate in this place from Mahavikas Aghadi.Nagpur West Constituency: In the Nagpur West assembly constituency too, the rebel Narendra Jichkar is Kedar's supporter, opposing Vikas Thackeray of the Congress.This revolt by Sunil Kedar's supporters has sparked internal discontent in the Congress party in Nagpur. Despite the selection of official Congress candidates, Kedar supporters have raised flags of rebellion, creating a sense of lack of unity in the Mahavikas Aghadi. Such a situation in an important district like Nagpur for the Congress party could have dangerous consequences in the future.The situation is getting difficult in Nagpur Congress, there is a question mark about the leadership. The internal unity of the party is being affected by the rebellion of supporters of Sunil Kedar, it is challenging the official decisions of the Congress party. If the party leaders do not take immediate action against Sunil Kedar, this divide is likely to increase.Sunil Kedar is considered as one of the important leaders of Congress in Vidarbha. But, due to this rebellion, his leadership has been questioned. Rebellion against official Congress candidates by his supporters has become a cause of concern for the party. If the Congress leadership does not act against Sunil Kedar, the possibility of adverse consequences cannot be ruled out.This rebellion by supporters of Sunil Kedar is viewed as anti-party. Congress may face a big blow during the elections. Congress leadership will have to try hard to maintain the unity of the party when there is rebellion against Congress candidates in important constituencies in Vidarbha.
