Kanpur South secure 9 wkt victory

Kanpur: Sagar Sharma's brilliant unbeaten century propelled Kanpur South to a commanding 9-wicket victory over Olympic (Regd) in the A division KDMA league match on Saturday. Olympic (Regd), batting first, posted 228 runs in 35 overs, with Shubham Chaudhary and Bhavya Tiwari contributing 59 and 44 runs respectively. Kanpur South, pursuing the target of 229 runs, accomplished it in 27.1 overs. Sagar Sharma crafted a magnificent innings of 122 runs, featuring 11 boundaries and 9 sixes at his home ground. Aman Yadav supported with 58 runs.

Selection trials—Approximately 345 young cricketers participated on the second day of under-19 cricket trials conducted by the Kanpur Cricket Association on Saturday at Kanpur South ground.

Selectors will form 8 teams of players for selection trial matches. The finest players would be chosen for Kanpur team to compete in inter-district matches.

Football—Selection trials for Kanpur district and divisional under-20 football team will be conducted at Green Park on April 9 and 10. The selected team will participate in inter divisional U-20 football championship scheduled at Kanpur on April 15.
