Last month, Simpson, 44, posted a candid video on Instagram in which she revealed that she drank "snake sperm" at the recommendation of her vocal coach. The video showed Simpson drinking the Chinese herbal drink in a stylish yellow floral dress and a fuzzy blue jacket while explaining its purpose to her confused band.

The American singer-songwriter continued to share that her coach looked up the ingredients and found that it contained “snake sperm.” When asked if the unconventional beverage was similar to tea, she compared it to honey. Simpson concluded that the drink has improved her singing voice, advising, "If you want a good vocal, you got to drink snake sperm.”

The former reality star captioned the video post with three emojis: a microphone, a snake, and a test tube filled with a green substance.

However, that wasn’t the end.

After going viral for revealing her penchant for serpent sludge, the “Leave” singer defended her new drink of choice, saying, “I mean, it just really clears my throat. I’m just a great singer when I have snake sperm. I can’t help it.”
