How to make planks in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Send Push
Planks are essential in RuneScape Dragonwilds for advanced crafting and base building. But they are not something you will find lying around. Unlike the regular logs, the planks need processing through the Sawmill. It means you have to gather some specific materials first. If you are struggling to unlock the crucial crafting station, here is all you need to know to produce the planks to help you with your future builds.

Gathering materials for the Sawmill

Before you make the planks, you will need to build the Sawmill. The crafting station needs 18 Ash logs (chipped from the Ash Trees), 8 Stones (mined from the rocky terrain), and 4 Bronze Bars (smelted from the Tin and Copper Ore ).

The Bronze Bars are the trickiest of the other items. For it, you will need to mine copper and tin ore. Next, you will need to smelt them in the furnace. After you have the bars, Stone and Ash Logs can be easily collected from the Temple Woods and Bramblemead Valley. If you are under-leveled for the combat zones with the ore, consider sneaking it up past your enemies or bringing the ranged weapon for your safety.

Crafting and using Sawmill

To craft and use the Sawmill, follow the steps mentioned below.

  • After you gather all the materials, open the Build Menu.
  • Navigate to the crafting stations to place the sawmill.
  • Once the construction is completed, interact with it and insert the logs to convert it to planks.
  • Each batch will take a few seconds. So, stockpile the logs for efficient production.

The Planks unlock critical upgrades like the Cooking Range and Loom. It makes them worth the effort. Later, you will find stronger wood types like Blightwood for the advanced recipes. However, the Ash Planks are just perfect for your progress, especially early in the game.

Pro tips for effective gameplay

  • Save the planks for some essential builds. The basic structures can be built using regular logs.
  • If you need Charcoal, burn the normal logs. Do not waste the planks in the Kiln.

With the Sawmill ready, you will never struggle for the plans again. So, make its right use and keep building as you progress ahead in the game. Happy crafting!
