Marvel Rivals Battle Pass changes explained

Send Push
It’s officially been a year since NetEase Games launched Marvel Rivals , and it took the PvP hero shooter world by storm with its Closed Alpha Test. Thank the fans; the developers have announced the return of its Season 0 Battle Pass . With the return of the Season 0 Battle Pass and a few tweaks to how future passes will work, both new and returning players have a fresh chance to enjoy past rewards. Here's a detailed look at what’s changed and what it means for players.
What’s new in the Battle Pass system? On May 13, 2025, NetEase confirmed that the Season 0 Battle Pass would return from May 15, 2:00 AM to May 29, 2:00 AM PDT. Costume Coins , which let folks redeem the debut costume for any of the game’s 33 heroes featured in Season 0, will also be awarded to players. Unfortunately, players will need the Luxury Battle Pass priced at 590 Lattice points (a bit over $4.99). This re-release is part of the "Galacta's Gift" event, celebrating the first anniversary of the game's Closed Alpha Test.
Key changes to the Battle Pass system
  • The season 0 battle pass is introduced. However, future Battle Pass returns might occur, but any such plans will span at least two seasons and be priced at a minimum of 20% higher than the original seasonal rate.
  • Luxury Tier Only: There are no free rewards in the return Battle Pass; all rewards require the Luxury Battle Pass.
  • No Expiration After Purchase: In Marvel Rivals, once you purchase a Battle Pass, it never expires, meaning you can continue to unlock rewards in future seasons even after the event ends.
  • What This Means for PlayersLongtime players who have worked hard to earn exclusive Battle Pass items and hoped they would remain that way may be disappointed by this news, but those who missed out will probably be happy. However, fans are already verifying that White Witch, Scarlet Witch, and Cyan Venom will be included in that agreement soon in the game.
The developers' attempts to make Marvel Rivals more accessible and adaptable are reflected in the game's updated Battle Pass system. Even though not everyone will like every change in the game, there are unmistakable advantages to being able to go back and unlock previous content at your own pace. These changes imply that NetEase is considering user input and making plans for the game's sustained expansion.
