Republican leader and former GOP president-hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for comparing former President Donald Trump to Hitler and called the comparison "reckless."

Taking to X, Ramaswamy asked Kamala Harris to apologise for the comparison and warned her that there are crazy people out and the country had already seen two assassination attempts on Trump and one can't afford to inadvertently stoke the flames of political violence just 13 days before the election.

"Comparing Trump to “Hitler” is not only insane. It’s reckless. We’ve seen two assassination attempts already, we don’t need things to get any worse. Our country is skating on thin ice, there’s a lot of crazy people out there, and we can’t afford to inadvertently stoke the flames of political violence just 13 days before the election. I’m calling on Kamala Harris to apologize now," Ramaswamy posted on X.

This remark came after Harris, while speaking at a CNN town hall, said that she believed Trump is a danger to the well-being and security of the US and said the American people deserve a president who maintains “certain standards,” which include “certainly not comparing oneself, in a clearly admiring way, to Hitler.”

Reacting to the claims made by Donald Trump's former chief of staff John Kelly in an NYT interview that ex-president used to speak admiringly of Adolf Hitler and would seek to govern as a dictator.

“It is deeply troubling and incredibly dangerous that Donald Trump would invoke Adolf Hitler, the man who is responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans,” Harris said Wednesday just now outside her official residence at the Naval Observatory in northwest Washington DC.

“All of this is further evidence for the American people of who Donald Trump really is,” she claimed.

“In just the past week, Donald Trump has repeatedly called his fellow Americans the enemy from within, and even said that he would use the United States military to go after American citizens,” Harris said “and let’s be clear about who he considers to be the enemy from within. Anyone who refuses to bend a knee or dares to criticize him would qualify, in his mind, as the enemy within — like judges, like journalists, like non-partisan election officials.
