Four US individuals who dubbed themselves the " Cutthroat Cowboys " are facing legal consequences after a viral video showed them riding "emotional support" horses through a Walmart in Baker, Louisiana.
The incident occurred last week and was captured in a short video widely circulated on social media. The footage, initially shared by local outlet WBRZ 2, shows the group riding horses through store aisles and past cashiers, startling customers and staff.
In the video, a woman can be heard repeatedly exclaiming “Oh hell no,” while another person expresses shock. A Walmart employee is seen laughing before suggesting that authorities should be called, noting the riders might "scare the sh--t out of somebody."
Additional TikTok footage, believed to have been filmed from horseback inside the store, featured the group with Big & Rich’s song “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” playing in the background, as reported by New York Post.
Following the public outcry and police investigation , arrest warrants were issued. Mason Webb, 18, and an unnamed juvenile turned themselves in shortly after. Later, the remaining two members—Brendon Bridgwater, 24, and Patrick Derozan, 22—surrendered to the Baker Police Department on Friday morning.
In an interview with WBRZ 2, Webb explained the group’s actions were not meant to cause harm but were simply for amusement and social media attention. “It was fun, we were famous. That’s all,” Webb said. “We didn’t wanna hurt nobody... We always ride to Baker, and we just wanted to do it that day," he said adding, "that's my emotional support animal.”
All four individuals are facing multiple charges, including entering and remaining after being forbidden, unlawful posting of criminal activity, and disturbing the peace.
