The White House said on Sunday Donald Trump is "fully fit," as it released results of the US president's first annual medical check-up of his second and final term, which began in January.

"President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State," read a physician's letter shared by the White House.
The MAGA leader was examined by Capt. Sean Barbabella of the US Navy on Friday. Later that day, the billionaire had told reporters he felt "in very good shape."
Loss in weight
The results showed Trump weighs 224 pounds (101.6 kg), down 20 pounds from his last physical as president, in 2020, when he was found to weigh 244 pounds (110.7 kg).
Improved cholesterol levels
Trump's cholesterol level improved to 140 (167 in 2020, 196 in 2019 and 223 in 2018). Ideally, total cholesterol should be less than 200.
'Elevated' blood pressure
The 78-year-old's blood pressure is 128 over 74, a level which is considered "elevated." Such individuals are likely to develop high blood pressure unless steps are taken to control the condition.
Heart rate
The Republican has a resting heart rate of 62 beats per minute, in line with the earlier tests. For an adult, a normal resting heart ranges from 60 beats to 100 beats per minute. Generally, a lower rate implies better cardiovascular fitness.
A few 'abnormalities'
The exam summary noted only a few "abnormalities," including minor damage to Trump's skin due to sun, as well as a scarring on his right ear from a gunshot wound after he was shot at in an assassination attempt in July 2024.
The summary also noted that Trump previously had cataract surgery, a common procedure among aging people. The surgery typically involves removal of a cloudy eye lens; it is replaced with an artificial lens to help clear up vision.
