Oppo has officially confirmed the launch of its latest mid-range 5G smartphone, the Oppo K12s 5G, in China on April 22, 2025, at 2:30 PM local time (12:00 PM IST). Set to join the Oppo K-series alongside the Oppo K12 and K12 Plus, the K12s 5G boasts an impressive lineup of features, including a massive battery, fast charging, and high-performance internals. The launch comes just a day after the scheduled debut of the Oppo K13 5G in India, which is expected to share many similarities.

Powerful Battery and Fast Charging Capabilities

One of the most notable highlights of the Oppo K12s 5G is its 7,000mAh battery, designed to deliver extended use for power users and gamers. Complementing the large battery is 80W wired fast charging support, enabling users to quickly top up the device within minutes. This combination is expected to provide a strong edge in the mid-range smartphone segment, where battery life remains a critical factor for users.

Design, Display and Storage Options

The Oppo K12s 5G will be available in three color variants: Prism Black, Rose Purple, and Star White. The smartphone features a sleek design with a square-shaped rear camera module, rounded edges, and a centred hole-punch cutout on a flat AMOLED screen. The handset will be offered in multiple RAM and storage configurations:

  • 8GB + 128GB

  • 8GB + 256GB

  • 12GB + 256GB

  • 12GB + 512GB

The design showcases narrow side bezels, a slightly thicker chin, and side-mounted volume and power buttons for ease of use.

Flagship-Level Features in a Mid-Range Device

The Oppo K12s 5G is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC, which offers balanced performance and efficiency. The device is also rumored to sport a 6.66-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth visuals for content consumption and gaming. An in-display fingerprint sensor will provide fast and secure unlocking.

In terms of camera specs, the phone may come equipped with a 50MP dual rear camera system and a 16MP front-facing shooter. The camera setup is likely to be supported by AI enhancements for improved image quality.

Additionally, the handset is expected to offer Android 15 with ColorOS, dual stereo speakers, NFC, an IR blaster, and a 5,700mm² VC (vapour chamber) cooling system for optimal thermal management.

Potential Global Variant

Given the design similarities and launch timeline, the Oppo K12s 5G is widely speculated to be the Chinese version of the Oppo K13 5G, which will launch in India on April 21. If confirmed, this could streamline the brand’s global rollout strategy, allowing consumers across markets to benefit from the same powerful specs and user experience.
